This course will focus on an in depth understanding of human behavior across cultures and the interaction of the biological, cognitive, and sociocultural influences on human behavior. An understanding of psychological knowledge will enable students to better understand themselves and appreciate individual differences between people in both local areas and around the world. Interpersonal skills will be developed that will allow students to communicate more effectively with those they work with regardless of geographic location. International mindedness will be a consistent theme as we develop a better understanding of diversity and empathy for those outside our own culture. Cultural and individual differences will be explored throughout the course by comparing research and people from around the world.
