A semester course that asks students to examine a range of multicultural literature, paying specific attention to the ways in which race, class, gender and sexuality affect various constructions of a literary “self.” Students will grapple with and engage in extensive discussions in relation to circumstances that may have guided such literary productions. Through this course, students will gain an understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of the racial and ethnic diversity of various cultures around the world.
